Closing in on Double-digits

We're not quite there yet, but last week was the ninth time we met. In hindsight, I guess that's not too shabby, considering that we haven't even done this Coffee Crew for 3 full months yet. Here's to keeping things rolling in 2005!

We met at Joe's place again for a tasty spread of Italian snacks and for some good readings and a good time was had by all.

Sue, Joe, Rich, Paul, and I attended this time around. Rich read an interview with Mick Fleetwood that—either surprisingly or unsurprisingly, depending on how you look at it—was Star Trek related. That's what happens when you are the resident "Space Consultant." Paul's "reading" of his literary creation was actually pre-filmed and featured him sitting on his bed wrapped in a sheet and pretending he didn't speak English. (It made TOTAL sense if you were there). Joe sparked some great conversation with some analysis on religious matters. Sue read an old piece of hers that was writeen over 12 years ago about the awakening of a city through the eyes of a runner, a great piece that seems as relevant today as when it was written. And I, after getting a little more serious in recent readings, went back to the memoir format and brought in a (hopefully) amusing piece called, "Lying to Mom."

Good stuff. I'm looking forward to the next gathering.
