20th episode Issue!

That's right, you rambunctious little readers you, we finally hit the 20th meeting of the Coffee Crew! But first, a review of the 19th meeting....
Episode 19 was held at the Handley residence, where he offered up a spread of italian food like no other jew can. At this meeting, we learned the reasons for Joe's choice of faiths (due to a very unfortunate loss of a cousin). We also dove into the surreal mind of Steve once again to seek understanding of Time and Age, or as he writes, thymenage (or something to that effect... Steve, help me out here.) Sue read up about her father, which was a departure from the usual topic about, well, her mother. I'm sure there were other readings, but unfortunately the rest of the night was a blur, mainly because a majority of it was spent debating (like we do) whether time is in fact, the fourth dimension, and whether or not an event actually takes place if there is no record or memory of it. Needless to say, my head hurt afterwards.

And now, the blog you've all been waiting for..... the 20th Meeting!
Well, it was very appropriately held at the abode of the Coffe Crew creators themselves, Steve and Sue. We were welcomed with a vast feast of mexican delights from the Green Cactus, and dug in unrelentlessly. Afterwards, Rich read an interesting piece on the irony of phrases the media uses, such as "War for Peace" and "War on Terror", Sue read about her brother Tim, and about growing up with an adopted sibling. I have to admit my mind blanks out around there, and cannot remember if Joe or Steve read anything, just that it was getting a bit too late for me to read my piece coherently. Please feel free to update this blog with any other details of the past two sessions, naturally leaving out the impromptu jam session I had on Steve's drumset during the last meeting... =)

(Edit: in looking back to the previous posts' comments, it does indeed look like Steve read something, one more chapter in the epic tale of life as a non-drinker, where we learn of the delightful beverage, Smurf-piss. How could I possibly forget?!))

(Edit Edit: Nope, sorry, My bad.. that was another night. Steve had nothing this time around.)

    "Thymenage" is correct! Good job!

Yes, and we WILL get back to furthering that discussion. Joe suggested it, and I'm all for it. Look for an entry in upcoming weeks that might be called "Thymenage Revisited."

I will call no attention to that, if you promise not to report how dreadfully out of tune my kit was! Been meaning to replace those heads latelty!

Right, I read nothing because the intent was to skip a reading an re-open the discussion thread on "Thymenage." (Joe had suggested it, and I thought it sounded like it was a good idea since there was lots more to say.) However, you longwinded troublemakers made that an imposibility by chatting away on other issues until Rich was ready to turn into a pumpkin. I would never monopolize an evening like that (Eyes roll skyward, feet shuffle about nervously).

Now, as for the ol' Smurf Piss routine--yes, that was at your house on March 4th, gathering # 18. Know how I knew that for sure? THIS BLOG!! Uh huh! See, you guys mock my obsession for proper documentation to preserve accuracy in the name of thymenage, but good records (like blogs) help sort things out and keep us all from wondering these kind of "important" issues. I know because of the comment to gathering # 17's write up, where I said this:

"My [psychoanalytical] forest [from Joe's questionairre] looked like the Smurf village--which is interesting because now this is the second time the Smurfs have been mentioned in this young blog. (Go back to the early week's comments to see for yourself.)

"Interestingly, too, my reading in the week that came after this one discussed a beverage called 'Smurf Piss.' "

Yup. So there you have it! When one of the great great great great great great great descendants of Joe B. in the year 4037 aspires to put up a web page called coffee_crew_timeline_universe.net , he will have a much easier job filling in some blanks because of this blog. He also will be confused and say, "According to the relics I have found, one of my ancestors was supposedly training to be a 'Jedi,' whatever that means...but for some reason he had nothing to say about it in his Young-Jedi journal!"

Great job updating the blog, Paul! With every passing week, you are looking like the blog golden boy, while Rich is just looking like blog slacker.

  • I have this funny image of a future Bongiorno actually creating a timeline of the Coffee Crew, saying, "Dude, that can't be right -- if Rich didn't read his comments about the war until Episode 20, how could hey have been joking about it in Episode 19? And where do the animated adventures of the Coffee Crew fit into all this? That's it -- Episode 20 is apocrphyl! It's no longer canon!"
